About this deal

At school, he was largely disinterested in all subjects except creative writing, for which he won his first prize at the age of ten. However, calling it the first prize he won suggests that there were other prizes, which is not the case. Awards may yet come, but in the meantime, he enjoys writing mystery and thriller novels and claims to have more than a hundred books forming a restless queue in his mind because they are desperate to be written.

One thing is for sure, what started out as a bit of fun, is getting deadlier by the hour, and they’d better work out what the dog knows soon or it could be curtains for them all.‘His dog Rex Harrison was an ex-police dog disowned due to its bad attitude. Rex can’t understand why humans find it hard to solve the mystery. He already has the answer, as he can smell it in front of their noses. However, solving a few mysteries won’t get them out of trouble, for there is a master criminal behind many of the crimes they encounter, and they’ve just caught his attention. They discover all sorts of things as they look into the case including a drug sting. Albert and Rex attract the attentions of the villains and have his room at the B&B where he is staying firebombed. who was widowed exactly one year ago yesterday, is embarking on a culinary tour of his native England with his “assistance dog,” Rex Harrison. The German Shepherd is “the only dog in the history of the Metropolitan police to have been fired for having a bad attitude,” but he and Albert are fond of each other and work well together.

The Stilton Slaughter. So many interesting facts about Stilton cheese but the mystery was delightful. It takes place first the most past in Stilton, a small town in Cambridgeshire, England, where the cheese is made and celebrated at an annual festival. Alfred is scheduled to take a tour of a dairy to see the process of making Stilton. He arrives just before the scheduled cheese festival as the dairy learns all their Stilton has been stolen. Without the cheese the town can't stage the Stilton race where rounds of the cheese are rolled down the main street. Albert meets a young police constable, the only police presence in the town, who is the butt of bullying by the Chief Superintendent. With Albert's assistance the Constable sets out to solve the theft. Great story, delightful repartee between the two, with Rex the faithful German Shepherd close behind. He also prepared himself to tour the country to do sampling and learn to make famous British culinary even when his children disapproved of it. Alberts’s first stop is Melton Mowbray, where he was visiting Agnew’s pork Pie emporium to earn skills on how to prepare a perfect pork pie. He hopes to get the right skills to make tasty treats and delicious pies.

Publication Order of Shunned Immortal Books

One year after the passing of his wife, a retired police superintendent Albert decides to fulfill his wife’s wish by learning how to cook. He plans on doing it his way by traveling around and getting skills in preparing various dishes. Albert has a lot of dishes to explore throughout the journey. Everywhere he goes, there turns out to be a body or two, and he lets his dog Rex help hunt the culprit. Long time retired police detective superintendent Albert Smith (who also comes from the same village as Mrs Fisher and appeared briefly in one of her stories) is off on a culinary tour of Britain, even though his three police children are overly concerned about him. Accompanying him is his dog, Rex Harrison, who has the distinction of being the only dog ever fired from the British Police force for his bad attitude. Rex is a hoot! There is only one negative comment I have about this book. Too many points-of-view were confusing. Donna, Albert, and Rex were all showing their point-of-view at the same time, instead of just one at a time per chapter. If the author hadn't put each of their names in the paragraphs, I would not have known who was thinking what. I've never read a book with so many points-of-view without a break in the paper, like asterisks between the paragraphs. I'm just saying, that this multiple viewpoint made me read other books at the same time, just so I could get my brain refocused. Albert Smith is still on his culinary trip in Britain with his snarky ex-police dog Rex Harrison. His son Randall is with him; as they travel on the second round, they find and learn how to cook different foods famous in various parts of the country.

Please, please, please. Get this book now to read over the holiday. You won't regret it believe me. Coming from the author of the Patricia Fisher cruise mysteries, it is no surprise that this is also a fast, fun read. PDF / EPUB File Name: Pork_Pie_Pandemonium_-_Steve_Higgs.pdf, Pork_Pie_Pandemonium_-_Steve_Higgs.epub Overall, Pork Pie Pandemonium is a fun story. The circumstances surrounding the incident in the pie shop are mysterious and more dangerous than initially believed. Rex is quite a character himself, often providing some comedy with his antics, but never to the detriment of the story. Mystery fans and dog lovers will be sure to enjoy this book and will be looking forward to reading the rest of the series. Long-retired Detective Superintendent Albert Smith is recently widowed and has decided to set off on a tour of the country sampling, and learning to make, famous British culinary offerings despite the misgivings of his three children who are all serving police officers. He's traveling with his dog Rex Harrison who is a K-9 school dropout. Rex shares his thoughts with the reader even though Albert can't hear him. I liked that Albert is 78 and quite a bit slower and creakier than he was in his working days. He's experiencing some memory issues and, at one point in the story, gets lost while doing some investigating. He also, like many of us older adults, finds himself in a crucial situation with a cellphone in need of a charge. I really like his relationship with Rex who has quite a mind of his own and who gets a chance to use his training in the story.Denying to believe in coincidence, Albert and Rex prepare to discover why her accident is the second terrible event in two days. It appears something is baking in Bakewell, and it’s not the ingredients of the famous dessert. With lots of characters that were really funny, the story brightened up a dull old day for me. So thank you to the author for that! When I wrote my first novel, Paranormal Nonsense, I was a Captain in the British Army. I would love to pretend that I had one of those careers that has to be redacted and in general denied by the government and that I have had to change my name and continually move about because I am still on the watch list in several countries. In truth though, I started out as a mechanic. Not like Jason Statham, sneaking about as a contract killer, more like one of those greasy gits that charge you a fortune and keep your car for a week when all you went in for was a squeaky door hinge.
